Churches Together in Didcot and District

St. Peter's Church

The church building was dedicated in 1976 bringing congregations from two parts of the town previously served by St Peter's Church of Northbourne (1876 - 1976) in Church Street, and St Frideswide’s Barn Church (1939-1974) in Park Road, together into St Peter's Church, Newlands Avenue.

St Peter's has around 120 people on the electoral role served by a vicar and a curate. St Peter's forms part of the Didcot group ministry with All Saints, Didcot.

St Peter's is actively seeking to grow by inviting the Holy Spirit to renew its vision and discipleship.

Witness is in action in the community through close links with local schools, in particular Northbourne CE Primary School, and with the Didcot Family Centre. The church premises are also offered for use by Whistlestop, a drop-in centre promoting mental health, and to other groups including The Didcot Choral Society.

St Peter's also hold a pram service on Tuesday Mornings 10:00am for 20-25 minutes. This is a Communion and caters for parents with babies & toddlers. Following the service there is coffee etc. and a play group till 12.
